How to Update User Permissions and Access in the Swiftly Dashboard

Follow

Need to modify access levels for existing users in your Swiftly Dashboard? Whether you need to elevate permissions, update dashboard access, change user roles, or adjust module access, updating user permissions follows the same simple process as adding new users.

When You Might Need to Update Permissions

Common scenarios include:

  • Covering for a colleague who is out on leave
  • Promoting team members to new roles
  • Adjusting access when job responsibilities change
  • Granting temporary elevated access for special projects
  • Modifying module permissions based on user needs

How to Update User Permissions

User permission updates are managed through your agency's account sheet, which is the same Google Sheets document used for adding new users to the Swiftly Dashboard.

Accessing the Account Sheet

Your agency account sheet is shared between Swiftly and your agency and is maintained by Swiftly's main point of contact at your agency. If you need to update permissions for yourself or a team member, contact your agency's point of contact using your internal support methods. They will update the account sheet, which automatically notifies the Swiftly Team to modify the user permissions.

If you're unsure whether your agency uses an account sheet, please email your agency's point of contact or contact support@goswift.ly.

To request permission changes, locate the existing user in the account sheet and update the following fields as needed:

  • Role
  • Dashboard permissions
  • Module permissions

Important: When requesting permission updates for an existing user, ensure the Account Status cell is set to "Account Updated". Swiftly, staff will then process this change within 24 hours.

Need to Remove User Access?

If you need to remove a user's access entirely, use the "Request Removal" option in the Account Sheet drop-down menu. This notifies Swiftly that a user should be removed because they no longer work at your agency or no longer require dashboard access.
