Understanding How to Use Onboard App Training Mode

Follow

You can use Training mode to train and onboard new teammates to the Onboard App. You can also use Training Mode if you would like to test certain app features without interfering with Live Operations, such as previewing display names for Operators, previewing Trip IDs that Operators would select from, and understanding how newly released functionalities work.

To access the Training Mode, first open the Onboard App. You should be presented with the Swiftly logo and a "Sign In" button. There should also be a menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

Select the Menu Icon in the top-left >> select "settings" >> select the Dashboard you would like to use for testing and training.

In settings, toggle the Training Mode status to "On" which should be indicated with a blue switch toggled to the right.

Go back to the initial Sign In screen you see when you open the Onboard App, you should see a message stating, "Training mode is enabled. Swiftly will not record your sign-in or GPS Data" and select "Sign In". Once you are signed in, you can select a Vehicle ID you would like to assign to the tablet during the session.

After a Vehicle ID is assigned, you can either confirm or select an assignment. Vehicles that have already been assigned a trip will initially have the option for you to confirm assignment. Confirming the assignment would allow you to mirror the live operations of the vehicle without impacting its own performance. Essentially, you would have a ride-along experience of a vehicle that has already been assigned.

You can also select the "back" button in the top-left corner of the confirmation screen to see a list of Vehicle IDs, routes, and trips you can select. This is where you can see what selecting a route and trip would look like for the operator.
