Service Adjustments: Modify Departure Time

Follow

The Modify Departure Time Service Adjustment allows an agency to modify departure times for vehicles in real-time. For example, when there's an accident or an emergency situation, an agency can modify stop departure times to reflect the delay for that vehicle for upcoming stops. Additionally, Modify Departure Time can be used to maintain headway service. For example, operation teams can update departure times when vehicles leave earlier or later than the scheduled to maintain headway and avoid bunching/gapping. When modified departure times are in effect, predictions will automatically update accordingly, so riders can plan their trip with more accurate information.

If your agency has Rider Alerts enabled you can also inform riders and staff with additional information about the delay through your passenger-facing tools. Also, operators who are using the Onboard App will see a countdown timer at the stop indicating when they should leave like they would at a timepoint.
